A place to trade handmade crafts.
Hello and welcome!
Here are the rules to help you get started:
1. All crafts must be (mostly) homemade.
2. You can trade supplies, kits or bundle small crafts together to trade for larger craft items.
3. You can trade as many items as you want.
4. When you find something you like, ask the person if they would like to trade for your craft. Then exchange your mailing information once you have agreed to trade.
5. Craft Trade Days are fun! And they help people become focussed for trading. But, you can trade on any day, any time.
6. Be sure to give your handmade items a reasonable* worth.
7. No one has to trade if they don't want to.
8. Play nice! Everyone has different taste. Remember the Golden Rule and don't say anything if what you want to say is mean spirited.
9. If you are trying to sell your crafts, this is the wrong place for you. Check out Etsy.
10. Although some amount of creative overlap will naturally occur, please try your best not to steal someone else's ideas. You're creative! Come up with your own.
11. Have fun!
*Everyone has different ways to come up with the cost of their crafts. One good rule of thumb is to triple your materials cost. You could also look online and find what other people are selling their comparable craft for.
Craft Trade Day II Success! Here are the trades that I know about. Update me if you traded and I didn't catch it.
Pioneer Woman's Cow Print for Leahpeah's Bonpron
Leahpeah's Bonpron and ByJane's Two Sticks Bag (I hope)(pretty sure)
Alice Anjo's Felted Fetuccini Bag for Pioneer Woman's Dragonfly Print
crazycatladyMel made at least one trade with Julie Jackson.
Welcome, all you coming from the Craftzine website! Create a membership and upload your craft image! I'm taking out all the currently featured items in the slideshow (below) and will be featuring only images people put up for the trade on Friday. Be sure to email me at leah@leahpeah.com to let me know which of your images are for trades.
Because we have so many new members, I thought going over what Craft Trade Day is all about might be helpful. It's real easy and real fun.
Step 1. Upload the image(s) of your handmade craft(s). Step 2. Look around at what every one else has.
Step 3. On Craft Trade Day (this Friday, May 18th) come to the site and connect with the people whose crafts you like and want to trade with. The front page forum will be up and running for you to see who else is around and who is trading with who.
Step 4. Once you have agreed with someone regarding a trade, exchange mailing information.
Step 5. Live happily ever after! And then come back next time for Craft Trade Day.
Also, craft trades can go down at any time. We just have Craft Trade Day to facilitate the exchanges.

Hey! How are y'all? The 15th is coming up soon. Like, next Tuesday. So, in the interest of my sanity, I'm moving it to the 18th, which is Friday. I'll post an image of my trade next Monday and I'm encouraging you all to post your images as soon as you can. I'm working on a way to have live updating going on throughout the day but no promises at this point. Yay! Craft Trade Day ll, here we come! (Don't forget, if you want to contact me, use leah@leahpeah.com)

We have a conversation going on here. Please join in with your suggestions.
Does anyone have any suggestions for making things easier/better? Pioneer Woman said it would be nice if everyone knew what everyone else was doing/trading. I think we can use the forum for that. I'm working on a different layout. Let me know if you have any thoughts on the matter.
I don't know if you noticed, but if you post to your page or create an entry in the forum, it gets pulled to the front page below. So, when you add a new craft and post it to your page or in the forum, everyone should be able to see it.
Is it kosher, and if so, is anyone interested in doing a materials trade? Maybe gather a bag of goodies and see if it could go to another home?

Hello all you Awesome Crafters!!
You may have noticed a lag in activity this month. If you were around for the last two trades You'll probably know that the reason is because the functionality of this Ning site isn't quite what we need for our trades. If you are new here, please stick around a little while and look around.
Please know that all trading on any day is encouraged!! No, we won't be having official trading days until we get some things figured out, but please - go check out the neighbors on this site and trade away!
If you upload new craft item photos and want them to be included in the slideshow, let me know! (leah@leahpeah.com)
Happy Crafting!

I really can not believe 2007 is almost gone. It flew by faster than I care to realize this year. I found this site by way of Dooce, aka Heather Armstrong. If it had not been for her honest, forthright, intellegent blogging I don't know that we (da family) could have made it without killing each other. I just became an Aunt lastnight for the 15th time and have 3 more due up by April! So I guess it is time to dust of the laurels I've been sitting in and get busy. I could use any new and creati…

I stumbled across this site and automatically thought it was awesome! I'm glad there is something like this.
However... i don't know what to put up. I sew things here and there, and i do basic crochet, and i do leatherwork, but I don't know what types of crafts to put up. I will think of things. I have a purse or two that haven't found homes for yet. They look lonely, and I'd like for people to enjoy them instead of sitting in my closet in sealed bags, lol.
